Newspapers Take a Shot at Google and Yahoo

The World Association of Newspapers filed a complaint with the US Department of Justice and the European Commission to block an advertising deal between Google and Yahoo concerning newspaper ad placements. WAN’s main concern centers around the deal essentially devaluing the their advertising due to the market power of Google.

Google Gets the Nile While LinkShare Sings the Blues

One of the largest defections to the new Google Affiliate Network was announced this week when Blue Nile made it official that they were leaving LinkShare. Loosing Blue Nile, who is one of the largest online retailers of diamonds with a reported $73.7 million in overall sales during the Second Quarter of ’08, has to be considered a major blow for LinkShare.
